What a wonderful site! I knitted a scarf for a gift and found it so soothing to do that I made one for myself. Mittens next if I can find an easy pattern. I have to sit and read more of you blog, it is delightful.

I learned to knit at age 9, when I was in school in South Africa and it was required of all the girls. (The boys had wood shop or some such activity.) At age 11, we moved to Puerto Rico, where knitting was not nearly as popular. (Hmm..I wonder why?) I have not done any knitting since…but now I think it’s time to re-learn! Thanks for this post…a very cozy read for a snow-covered morning here in port-blizzard New England!
